Brno Railway Station /

Railway stations worldwide face similar challenges: they are often located in congested urban areas, create barriers between communities, and lack reflection of a city’s demographics and culture. This proposal reimagines their role by integrating a transit hub into the new Trnita district masterplan, blending transport with vibrant public spaces. Through active outdoor areas, informal programs, and natural terrain shaping to mitigate flooding, the design promotes porosity and activity. By celebrating the station's underworld and employing innovative placemaking, the railway station becomes a gateway for Brno’s southern expansion and a key destination for its diverse population.
